Know all men that Columbus Mountjoy & Bathsheba his wife of the County of Highland and State of Ohio in consideration of the sum of Three hundred & Ten Dollars, in hand paid by Cephas A. Fisher of the County of Fayette & State aforesaid have bargained and sold and do hereby grant, bargain, sell, and convey unto the said Cephas A. Fisher, his heirs and assigns forever, the following premises, situate in the County of Fayette in the State of Ohio, and in John Nicholas Survey No. 7365 and bounded and described as follows. Beginning at a stake & two pigeon oaks in the Charlestown road thence with said road N20’15”E 48 poles to a stake Jack oak & thence in the center of the aforesaid road thence S88’W175 ¼ poles to a stake in the Sabina road S44’15”E 70 ¼ poles with said road to a stake thence N88’E 132 poles to the beginning containing fifty acres be the same more or less. To have and to hold said premises with the appurtenances unto the said Cephas A. Fisher, his heirs and assigns forever And the said Columbus Mountjoy & Bathsheba his wife for them selves and heirs do hereby covenant with said Cephas A. Fisher his heirs and assigns that they are lawfully seized of the premises aforesaid; and that the premises are free and clear from all incumbrances whatsoever; and that they will forever warrant and defend the same, with the appurtenances unto the said Cephas A. Fisher, his heirs and assigns against the lawful claims of all persons whom occur. In Testimony whereof the said Columbus Mountjoy and Bathsheba his wife who hereby relinquishes her right of dower in the premises have hereunto set their hands and seals this nineteenth day of February in the year of our Lord one thousand Eight hundred and forty Eight. of the peace in and for said County, personally appeared the above named
Columbus Mountjoy and Bathsheba his wife and acknowledged the signing
and sealing of the above conveyance to be their voluntary act and deed;
and the said Bathsheba his wife being at the same time examined by me
separate and apart from her husband and the contents of said instrument
made discovered to her by me, then declared that she did voluntarily sign,
seal and acknowledge the same; and that she still satisfied therewith;
